Montevista Hospital Celebrates 25 Years

Mayor Goodman declares May 23 "Montevista Hospital Day"

LAS VEGAS - (June 22, 2010) - In honor of its 25 years of service to the mental health community in the Greater Las Vegas area, Montevista Hospital, a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facility, is proud to receive the mayoral proclamation declaring May 23 “Montevista Hospital Day” while celebrating the hospital’s anniversary.

Employees and community members, including Dr. Joe Hardy, NV State Assemblyman, celebrated the milestone on May 20 at the full-service behavioral health facility with a reception held in the Montevista outpatient building and a formal presentation and awards ceremony in the newly remodeled community education center.  During the presentation, Nancy Byrne from Mayor Goodman’s office delivered the Montevista holiday proclamation to a crowd of approximately 80 invitation-only attendees.

The facility was also honored with congratulatory recognition certificates from U.S. Senator Harry Reid, U.S. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley’s office, U.S. Congresswoman Dina Titus and U.S. Senator John Ensign.

In addition, five Montevista employees were recognized for their dedicated years of service and quality patient care at Montevista.  Carolyn Eastman, Eugenia Bartzos, Julie Jacobson and Robin Riley were awarded for more than 15 years of service, and Maryrose Mastrodonato was recognized for her dedication to Montevista since its doors first opened on May 23, 1985.

“We are honored to have Mayor Goodman, and our political representatives from local, state, and federal offices recognize our physicians and staff for 25 years of dedication in addressing the mental health needs of our community, and we are proud to be able to continue that tradition,” said Bob Marshall, chief executive officer of Montevista Hospital.  “While we are very appreciative of this recognition, we view what we do on a daily basis as simply our contribution to improving people’s lives in Southern Nevada, and we vow to continue striving each and every day to provide the highest quality mental healthcare possible.”

Montevista has also planned internal, employee-only celebration days for the fall to further commemorate the anniversary.  To pay tribute to this landmark year, the grounds of Montevista Hospital have been adorned with banners applauding the facility’s 25-year anniversary.
